CURA Current Initiatives
CURA leverages cross-institutional collaborations, regulatory expertise, and culturally-tailored care to help patients and families from all walks of life find peace and hope in the face of grief and despair.
The Pragmatic Trial of Psilocybin Therapy in Palliative Care (PT2PC) is an actively enrolling, 5-site randomized controlled trial of psilocybin assisted therapy for demoralization in adults near the end of life.
CUPS is a multiyear, interdisciplinary, and interweaving collection of community-engaged and observational studies that seek to understand the real world safety profile, risk factors, and time-tested safety practices of psychedelic users in non-medical settings.
Compassionate Use laws are a legal mechanism for patients with serious diseases and conditions to access psychedelic medical treatments. Given the complexities of offering psychedelic compassionate use treatments, this access pathway is severely underutilized, but there is growing interest in this option among patients, clinicians, and policymakers.
Our group is engaged in developing implementation research to study how best to deliver such novel forms of care in the real world settings where patients could eventually receive such treatments at scale.
